It Happened One Night (1934) - Movie Review

It Happened One Night from 1934 is the granddaddy of the romantic screwball comedies. You watch a film like this and you will see so many elements that have been duplicated over the years, with the core elements being the most used of them all:

1) there's an unlikely couple:
The spoiled rich girl running away from home.
the arrogant, wise-cracking guy who just lost his job.

2) They meet under random conditions and, of course,
they initially loathe one another.

3) But through a weird and zany set of conditions they fall in love.

4) Finally, the biggest movie trope of them all: there's some mishap and misunderstanding the lovers separate...
but will they finally reunite?

You've seen these elements in probably every romcom ever, but here is the one that started it all. Directed by Frank Capra of "It's a Wonderful Life" fame, the film stars Clark Gable, Claudette Colbert, and a number of familiar faces on the way.
